Top 10 Finalists Announced for the Youth Technology Innovation Provincial Competition – Eastern Cape

We are proud to announce the Top 10 Finalists of the Youth Technology Innovation Provincial Competition (YTIP) – Eastern Cape Province.

The competition showcases innovative solutions developed by young entrepreneurs addressing pressing challenges across sectors including health, agriculture, environmental sustainability, and digital technology.

After a competitive selection process, the following innovators have been selected as the Top 10 Finalists:

  • Asake Wear Reusable Period Underwear – Unathi Mashaba
  • Batho Pele Bioloop Africa Farm – Sandakahle Sivungu
  • Veridate – Sinawe Siqebengu
  • Prolink Digital Platform – Aphiwe Gaya
  • Water Tank Cleaning System – Yonela Pezulu
  • Luminari Patch – Ulenda Medupe
  • Plot-to-Plate – Sibulele Mgwane
  • Drainguard – Anezwa Mvakade
  • LegacyMind – Tsholofelo Gopane
  • Flood Alerting System – Tshegofatso Tlhodi

These innovators will now advance to the national stage where they will pitch their solutions during South African Innovation Week 2026 in Johannesburg from 18–20 March 2026.

The Youth Technology Innovation Competition aims to identify and support emerging innovators whose technologies have the potential to drive economic growth, address societal challenges, and contribute to South Africa's innovation ecosystem.

🏆 Hackathon Winners Announced: Innovators, Coders & Problem Solvers

We are thrilled to announce the winners of our first-ever Innovators, Coders & Problem Solvers Hackathon, held on 16 March 2026 at Fairview Sport Centre as part of SA Innovation Week activities.

The energy, creativity, and collaboration on display were absolutely incredible. Teams worked throughout the day to build innovative prototypes addressing real-world challenges.
